Kid Carpet and Vic Llewellyn take you on a musical, moving & comic trip through the minds of some of our planet’s most eccentric and creative individuals. A smash-hit success at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe.

The show spirals outwards from personal accounts into tales of outsiders who’ve built gigantic extraordinary structures, alone, in secret, and without artistic approval from the real world.

“It holds its audience, tenderly, in the palm of its hand, lifts us to the stars, then places us gently back down on earth, with a reminder that there’s always time to live better.”

We're pleased to be able to put together this 4 band bill for The Mets stage - If you're into the new indie guitar bands currently making real headway on the UK live music scene - bands such as The 1975, Catfish, Blossoms, The Sherlocks etc then this is a gig to come and check out
The Scruff may be new to Peterborough but they've been making some serious headway nationally! Their current single ' Her' was recently all over Radio 1's playlist as the 'BBC Introducing Radio 1 track of the week'
The single is available everywhere now:
    Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/album/6NGtFeUqAT4WyaFDBbpXRH
    iTunes & Apple Music
    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/her/id1273750183…
A bit about the band - The Scruff—A sartorially elegant four piece from Bedford, England, The Scruff are steeped in the English tradition of quirky guitar-pop, evoking the classic song writing of The Kinks and The Jam and the prime Brit-Pop hooks of Blur and Supergrass with a new age twist.
The Lucky Lessons are a new alternative rock band from Peterborough, United Kingdom. If you remember Peterborough bands The Midnigfht Birds and Paizx Amour then you’ll recognise the members of The Lucky Lessons! - have a listen to a rough track here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBJJ_TtVSWs&feature=youtu.be
    Joining the line up are
Vigilantes - energetic Indie Rock. Their live shows have rightfully earned them support slots with bands such as: The Subways, Man Made and The Sherlocks, with their latest singles "Rather Be You Instead" "What A Shame" and "Fairweather Friends" having received fantastic responses from BBC Introducing.
They've just completed a smal lUK tour - definately for fans of indie guitar music. - have a listen to this - tinyurl.com/ya2ypf5l
    Check them out at https://www.facebook.com/vigilantesmusicuk/
"I love it. I love them so much. They take me back to my youth; they sound like Manic Street Preachers in their heydey, from when Richie was with them" - Dean Jackson, BBC Introducing

Among The Citizens - a new 4 piece Indie alternative band aged between 16-17 in the Peterborough area. Musical influences are mainly based on bands such as 'The Arctic Monkeys', 'The 1975', 'Swim Deep', 'The White Stripes' and many more. These guys suppoirted The Extons at The Met the other week and madew a really good impression on those that matter - ie the customers. Good to see a young guitar band coming through in the area.

Want to make a difference to your local environment? Want to volunteer with a project that is creating a long-lasting impact for the area and its residents? Don’t miss joining in special Forest for Peterborough tree planting days this season!

Volunteers can drop-in to tree planting events to help PECT plant over 180,000 trees in and around the city and surrounding countryside by 2030. The target is to plant one tree for every person in the city in order to improve tree coverage, improve our green spaces, and the quality of air we breathe.

Please register your attendance with our project officer at simon.belham@pect.org.uk or call 07715 372432. Calling is advised on the day, because events may be cancelled due to poor weather conditions or finish early due to all trees being planted. Please wear appropriate clothing for outdoor work and sturdy footwear. All equipment will be supplied and no prior skills are required. All ages welcome.
