Harriet's piano accompanist will be Ben Horden, who is making his second appearance at Tuesdays Till Two after accompanying Jonathan Hanley here earlier this year. The concert is entitled "A Lover's Journey" and is a depiction of a young girl’s first journey of love and loss through Lieder, Song and Mélodie. Music by Schumann,Quilter, Ravel and more.

As usual the café will be open from noon, serving a range of hot drinks and homemade quiche, cakes, scones etc. All profits from the café will go to The Green Backyard.

The concert will begin promptly at 1pm. Admission is free, but those who are able to afford it are asked to make a donation. The suggested amount is £4.

    About Harriet Mountford:

Harriet Mountford (Soprano) was born in 1990 and grew up in the hills of Herefordshire. On leaving school she moved to Dublin, where she sang in the choir of Christ Church Cathedral under the direction of Judy Martin, and with the Charles Wood Singers, directed by David Hill. Whilst in Dublin Harriet studied singing with Lynda Lee at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Subsequently, Harriet moved to Edinburgh where she continued her studies with Peter Wilson. She sang in many consorts including Sospiri Baroque, and performed at St Mary’s Cathedral as part of the Edinburgh Festival.

In 2010 Harriet commenced University studies, graduating from the University of York with First Class Honours in Music. As a First-Study Singer, Harriet specialised in performance and historically informed technique. She studied singing with both Yvonne Seymour and Rachel Nicholls, and worked regularly with Paul Farrington. Whilst at York Harriet had a busy performing career both as a soloist and consort singer with many ensembles, including University Chamber Choir, Spectrum Ensemble, and Incognito with whom she performed in the UK’s premiere concert for the European Day of Early Music 2013, under the direction of Robert Hollingworth.

Since graduating Harriet has moved to Berkshire, where for the past three years she has been studying singing and performance privately with Jane Highfield. She enjoys a varied career of oratorio, recital and consort singing, and continues to build on her opera performance opportunities. Further engagements this year include a performance of Requiem in C minor (Haydn) and Coronation Mass (Mozart) for Axminster Choral Society, and a recital of English Song back in her home county of Herefordshire.
